This enhanced performance fiber unit (EPFU) air-blown fiber cable features 2-12 core single-mode optical fibers embedded in a resin material cured with UV light. The cable is jacketed with a special low-friction sheath.

Description

Hone’s EPFU is an air-blown fiber optic cable unit used in end-user networks. It is installed using a handheld air cable blower from a fiber distribution point to individual households.

The fiber bundle within the cable is created by curing optical fibers or fillers within a photosensitive resin in a specific arrangement. A special low-friction sheath is extruded over this bundle.

Application

This cable is designed for FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) access connections between a distribution point and the end user’s multimedia information box.
