MPO Breakout Cable Connector MPO to LC SC Duplex Simplex

MPO Breakout/Fan-out Cables: Bridging High-Density and Standard Fiber Connectivity

MPO Breakout Cable

MPO breakout cables, also known as fan-out cables, provide a transition between high-density MPO connectors and standard LC connectors. This design allows for easy connection to other network links, making them ideal for 40G to 10G network systems.

Description

An MPO breakout cable features an MPO connector on one end and LC connectors on the other. The LC connectors can also be SC, FC, ST, or other connector types. These cables are commonly used to distribute the signals from multiple channels within the MPO connector to individual LC connectors. This simplifies connections to other network devices and is frequently used in 40G to 10G network deployments.

Applications

MPO breakout cables are well-suited for various applications, including:

  • Data center cabling
  • High-density cable communication systems
  • Connecting QSFP and other optical modules
  • Building communication networks
