GYTS Stranded Loose Tube Light Armored Fiber Optic Cable
The Hone GYTS outdoor stranded loose tube light armored fiber optic cable is designed for aerial and duct installations. Its robust construction, including a stranded loose tube design, PSP steel tape armor, and a central strength member, makes it ideal for backbone networks, metropolitan area networks, and FTTH feeder applications.
Overview
This GYTS armored fiber optic cable features 250μm fibers housed within high-modulus plastic loose tubes, filled with a water-resistant compound. The loose tubes and fillers are stranded around a central strength member, forming a compact and circular cable core. In higher fiber count cables, the central strength member is also sheathed with polyethylene (PE). A layer of double-sided plastic-coated steel tape (PSP) longitudinally covers the loose tube, with filling compound between the loose tube and steel tape for water ingress protection. Finally, a PE sheath completes the cable structure.
Description
Hone’s GYTS outdoor stranded loose tube light armored fiber optic cable incorporates 250μm fibers within high-modulus plastic loose tubes, which are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. The loose tubes and fillers are stranded around a central strength member, creating a compact and circular cable core. For cables with higher fiber counts, the central strength member is sheathed with polyethylene (PE). A double-sided plastic-coated steel tape (PSP) longitudinally covers the loose tubes, with a filling compound in between for water protection. The cable is then jacketed with a PE sheath.
Application
This cable is suitable for:
- Aerial installations
